work it is important, who and how does it. Federal Training Centre
has been established at MOSCOW TIMIRYAZEV AGRICULTURAL
ACADEMY.
Moscow Timiryazev Agriculture Academy has 135 years history
of existence.
From a moment of formation in 1865 it has been central and
leading agrarian
University of Russia and former USSR. Now the Academy is
one of the
largest educational and methodical centre in the system of
agrarian
education in Russia. There were prepared the main number of
textbooks,
curricula, silabi and study materials for using in other
Agricultural
Universities of the country. There are many skilled
teachers and
scientists in all areas of agrarian science at the academy.
Research and
study process in Academy closely integrated with the
production through
the system of experimental farms, breeding and other
stations. Academy is
a retraining centre and a training of trainers centre for
the main
Agrarian Universities of Russia, researchers, specialists
and managers of
agricultural enterprises. It disposes a powerful material
and technical
base oriented the best execution of its scientific and
educational
functions. MTAA is a large research-methodological centre
concerned in the
development of national programmes in agribusiness and
influencing state
policy in agriculture at a level of the Federal Government
and Parliament.
In accordance with the General Plan of the development MTAA
managers
suppose to create a combined training-research-consulting
centre with
widely spread, production, information and social
infrastructure on the
sample of the best university centres all over the world.
One of the most important directions of the Plan is
development of
information- consulting service. This component expects an
appearance of
absolutely new, earlier never existed structure at MTAA,
which is supposed
to organize highly skilled consultancies, newly developed
courses and
raising a qualification of agricultural producers and
specialists, as well
as spreading and dissemination of the modern scientific
knowledge and
achievements in the field of machinery and technologies,
economies and
finance, information supply service and legislation.
MTAA is actively participating in improvement education
system and
training process: development and introduction new
programmes and courses;
conversion and adapting curricula for training and
retraining specialists;
development silabi for new disciplines; development of
modern methodical
study materials; entering new methods of teaching; using
the modern
training equipment and other facilities.
OUR GOALS Centre organises Extension staff
training, fulfils research and
other activities for Extension service. It develops
curricula and
programmes of seminars, jointly with the Ministry of
Agriculture selects
participants from the number of managers, specialists and
teachers of
regional and local levels to admit them to the training
programmes at the
Centre and at the best Extension service aboard.
OUR STUDENTS Federal Training Centre teaches the
following categories of
listeners: managers and specialists of federal level,
managers,
information and subject specialists, as well as teachers of
regional
level, managers and specialists of local level.
Extension service staff-members have to know strategies of
consultancy,
including psychological aspects, foreign experience in this
field. They
need knowledge of agricultural production, technology and
economics, as
well as strategies of collection and spreading information,
pedagogic and
psychology, using a computing machinery and information
systems and many
others. All these categories of Extension staff are trained
at the Centre
in framework of special and specific training programmes.
In
its practice the Federal Training Centre uses an experience of
successfully acting services. In August 1994 Moscow
Agriculture Academy
has opened training-consultation centre in Dmitrovsky rayon
of Moscow
region. It works as a local information-consultncy centre
